Nacho Azor is a piano player from Barcelona, Spain, residing in the Shanghai area (China).
Before moving to China, Nacho was a Full Time Professor at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ) College of Music, member of the Berklee International Network (BIN), where he taught from 2014 to 2016. From 2011 until 2013, Nacho earned a Masters in Jazz Piano Performance at the University of North Texas, rated one of the top Music Colleges of the world, where he studied with Stefan Karlsson (pianist of the Eddie Gomez Trio).

Nacho started playing piano at the age of 6. He joined music lessons at the age of 7 and went through classical training until he discovered jazz. Self-taught for years in that field, he joined the Taller de Musics school when he was 18, and some years after he joined the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona, where he graduated from in 2011.
During his musical journey, Nacho has played, among others, with Opus 6 (2008), Alfons Bertran Sextet (2009), Scott Neary Sextet (2011), The H. Monks (2012 and 2013), the Nacho Azor Quintet (2013) and his own Trios (2007-2015), as well as the Viktorija Pilatovik Quartet (2014-2015). You can hear to all of them in the Listening Section. He also has played in several Big Bands, Vocal Ensembles and even in a Trombone Ensemble, this utter ones mostly in his time in the United States.
The H. Monks
Nacho has performed in several Jazz Festivals such as the Granollers International Jazz Festival (Spain, 2009) and Les Clas Du Classique (France, 2011). He also did a piano solo tour in Asia in 2013, where he played in Hong Kong, Shanghai and other major locations.
Currently, Nacho is working in his first piano trio album, which could be categorized as contemporary and free jazz. Please go to the listen section to have a sneak peek.
